Government Required Continuing Professional Development for Real Estate Professionals

!!Scroll down further to see our availabe CPD sessions and to register!!

All real estate professionals in Queensland should have received an email from the Office of Fair Trading today – the new CPD (Continuing Professional Development) requirements officially started on 6 June 2025!

But don’t panic just yet—first, locate your real estate licence or registration certificate and check your Issue Date. Then, use this calculator to find out when you’re eligible to enrol in your CPD course. Don't do it early because it will not count!

General rule:

If your licence was issued between 1 January and 5 June, you’ll need to wait until the respective day and month in 2026 to enrol.

If your licence was issued between 6 June and 31 December, you can enrol now in 2026 as your CPD year has already begun.

Your CPD Year – What You Can Do, How Much It Costs, and How to Save!

Unless you're brand new to the industry (first-year licensees are exempt from CPD), everyone now has 12 months to complete two CPD units. You may complete:

Two Type 1 units, or One Type 1 unit + one Type 2 unit

If you currently only hold a registration certificate, you also have the option to complete two Full Licence upgrade units each year towards eventually obtaining your full real estate licence. Each upgrade unit costs $250 with PRET Australia, you can attend in person or via zoom.

!!Launch of Self-Paced CPD Sessions!!

We are pleased to announce the launch of our Online Self-Paced CPD sessions. These flexible programs can be completed at your convenience from home or work and include assessment components. Upon viewing all required videos and successfully completing the assessment questions, your Certificate of Completion will be issued automatically - making these sessions ideal for busy real estate professionals on the go.

💡 Hot Tip:
Watch out for free CPD units offered by the RTA, BCCM Office, and ARAMA at their public education events or online. Yes, there are ways to meet your CPD requirement without spending a cent!

At PRET Australia, we’re committed to offering affordable and high-quality CPD opportunities. Your support allows us to continue delivering more resources, events, and tools to help you grow professionally.
